Yellow sapphire is known as “Pukhraj “in Hindi and many other Indian languages. A silicate of aluminium containing fluorine and hydroxyl, yellow sapphire is one of the most precious stones in the gemstones sphere. Yellow sapphires cuts so easily that if a cut piece is dropped it might easily crack or break. The fraction of yellow sapphire is uneven and it is 3.5 times as heavy as water.
